Privacy Policy

1. Overview
PlayVault is designed to let users track games, manage personal library entries, publish ratings and reviews, and interact with other users through lightweight social features. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how users can control it.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: email address, username, authentication provider identifiers, and verification state.
- Library data: game status, platform, rating, review text, notes, tags, visibility settings, and timestamps.
- Social data: friend requests, accepted friends, blocked users, likes on activity items, game suggestions, and moderation reports.
- Operational data: request logs, timestamps, device and network metadata processed by infrastructure providers for security and service delivery.
3. How we use data
- To create and secure user accounts
- To store and sync library entries, ratings, reviews, and visibility choices
- To power social features such as activity feeds, suggestions, and moderation tools
- To operate the public trending catalog shown on the app and website
- To investigate abuse, enforce rules, and respond to support requests
4. Service providers
PlayVault uses third-party processors that support core service delivery:
- Firebase / Google for authentication and database storage
- Cloudflare Workers for API delivery and website-side trending data access
- IGDB for game metadata including covers, release information, genres, and platform data
5. Data sharing
PlayVault does not sell personal data. Data is shared only where necessary to operate the product, comply with law, prevent abuse, or respond to valid requests from authorities.
6. Retention
We retain account and app data only for as long as needed to operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our terms. When users delete their accounts from inside the app, PlayVault deletes the account and associated application data subject to technical and legal limitations.
7. User controls
- Manage visibility of entries as private, friends-only, or public
- Block other users
- Delete library entries, reviews, and account data from inside the app
- Request support or privacy assistance by email
8. Security
PlayVault uses authentication, access rules, and provider-level security controls intended to reduce unauthorized access. No system can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect their own account credentials and devices.
9. International users
If you use PlayVault from outside the country where our service providers operate, your data may be processed in other jurisdictions where privacy protections differ from your local laws.
